We built Pro.Radio trying to keep the highest compatibility with OnAir2, Vice, Kentha and Sonik, but as ProRadio has many new functionalities, not all of the content will be carried over seamlessly.

Most of the content will be seen by ProRadio without any major change, so you will be able to carry over with no problem the following contents:

  1. Posts
  2. Media files (pictures and other)
  3. Radio channels
  4. Charts
  5. Podcasts
  6. Team members
  7. Shows
  8. Schedules
  9. Pages (not all though, as ProRadio uses Elementor so you'll need to rebuild your homepage)

Contents that will not be carried over:

  1. Appearance customizations
  2. Events (ProRadio uses a different Events structure and post type)
  3. Home page (you can keep on using WPBakery, but we recommend switching to Elementor)

For your home page, you will find very useful the Templates for Elementor made available by the Pro.Radio WordPress theme : they will allow to create your Home Page from scratch with a couple of click, choosing the parts you want and composing a new home page in less than 60 seconds, with a true real-time visual experience.

General note

Even though most of the contents will be carried over seamlessly, the ProRadio theme brings new settings, options and features to all of your contents, so you may want to check the new custom fields and possibilities offered by this new theme and integrate yur existing contents to improve the experience for your visitors.

If you already have experience with OnAir2 or other QantumThemes products, you'll find the ProRadio theme pretty easy to use, but make sure to check the documentation to discover all of the new features available at your fingertips.

Recommended procedures to switch from OnAir2 to ProRadio

First of all: backup your website. Make sure you have both a files and database backup. You may find it easy to use the Softaculous backup fonction from cpanel, or use some WordPress plugin like All in One migration or Duplicator.

Once done, there are 3 ways to switch theme easily and without going offline:

  1. OPTION 1: CLONE YOUR SITE.
With cPanel and Softaculous(https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/clone/), or using a plugin like Dupicator or All in One migration, you can clone the site easily and work on a temporary copy.

  2. OPTION 2: A NEW INSTALL.
This method will allow to import the ProRadio demos. install a new WordPress instance on a subfolder, install ProRadio and the plugins, and import the demo you want. Once done, you can export the contents from your old site, and import them in the new one, clicking Tools > Export in the old site, export a WordPress XML file, and Tools > import in the new site, and choose the Wordpress imported option.

  3. OPTION 3: Rogue/reckless way, not recommended
After taking a backup, disable any plugin from the site. All of them. Not joking. Now install Pro Radio and its plugins, install the new required plugins, and build your new page with Elementor to replace the old Home Page. Make a new page so you will still have the old one as reference. You'll find Elementor widgets pretty similar to the OnAir2 WPBakery widgets.
Once finisher, put up again the plugins you had before.

Disable any plugin

Whatever method you choose, make sure to have a backup and make sure to disable ANY plugin you had installed.

ProRadio has new versions of almost any OnAir2 plugin, so if you have the onAir2 plugins installed, they'll conflict and crush badly with 500 errors.

Import only home templates

If your website was built with OnAir2, Kentha or Sonik, you may not want to import the ProRadio full demo content.
Instead, you can import ONLY the specific home page you want.
Each home template is available in the zip linked at the end of this page.

This quick tutorial will show you how to use the templates.

Remember that, depending on which contents you have in your website, certain sections may display differently, or may be missing the contents.
