A blog is commonly defined as a section of the website containing a list of entries called "Blog Posts", which can be seen as "news" or "journal pages".

Blog posts are normally ordered by descending date, with the most recent entry being displayed first.

How to create a blog

The 2 main parts of a blog are:

PART 1: The single "Blog Post"

PART 2: The "Blog Archive"

Once you have your first post, you will automatically have a Blog archive. You will then be able to create customized archives using the different features offered by the Pro.Radio WordPress Theme.

Categories and tags

The blog posts also have 2 standard classification taxonomies: categories and tags.

The categories are the main groups of posts and can be used to display the contained posts in different sections.

The tags are "keywords" that can be associated with a single post to create a semantical network of topics that will be useful both for the visitor, to find similar contents, and for the search engines, for the creation of a valuable network of internal links.

While editing your menu, you can add links to specific categories and tags directly in the Menu. This will open a custom Blog page with the specific posts added to the specific Category.

The main difference between tags and categories is that categories are hierarchical, while tags are not.

Making a food comparison, you can see categories as a type of dish (starters, main course, dessert) while the tags are more like the single ingredients of each dish.

Using Elementor you can filter the post results in specific sliders or carousels using the categories.

Summing up, the process to make a blog is the following:

  1. Write one or more posts
  2. Create a Blog page
  3. Add your blog page to the menu

In the next chapters, we will see more in detail each part of the process and the different options to display the blog using the Pro.Radio WordPress theme
