You’ll find a bunch of small upgrades, and to top it off, a much-awaited fantastic addition that everyone has been requesting for quite a while.

So, get your diving gear ready – mask and flippers – and prepare to plunge into this sea of updates for your radio station’s website!

Updated WooCommerce template files

The initial improvement involves WooCommerce, a well-liked ecommerce plugin that Pro Radio supports to assist you in making money from your radio station through merchandise and other means. Not only are we ensuring it’s up-to-date for flawless performance, but we’ve also enhanced the design of the shop page. It’s now more user-friendly and better organized.

Pro Radio Elementor Widgets: new “Horizontal menu” widget

A fresh addition you’ll spot in Elementor is the Horizontal Menu widget. This widget is just right for incorporating one of your existing WordPress menus into your pages, letting you craft personalized navigation sections. It’s easy to place on any Elementor page and tweak its look through the customizer (Logo and menu bar section).

Button widget for Pro Radio Elementor: New features and options

Our tailored button widget for Elementor, which already lets you play radio channels with a simple click, is getting two significant upgrades related to its appearance and capabilities.

The initial enhancement deals with the icon. Now, you have the option to choose from a diverse collection of thousands of icons. Additionally, you can set the alignment to either the left or the right.

The second advancement focuses on functionality. The improved button widget is now capable of triggering the off-canvas sidebar. This feature is handy for both mobile and desktop usage, allowing you to open the sidebar for extra information or access your mobile navigation links.

Show on air: added new options and styles

The well-liked “Show on Air” Pro Radio Widget in Elementor, designed to exhibit your current radio program from the schedule, has now become even more adaptable and versatile, thanks to fresh design choices.

We’ve adjusted the minimum height from 250 to 150 pixels, making it more compatible with specific kinds of featured images. This change permits larger horizontal pictures to be displayed, even on mobile devices.

Another novel design enhancement is the introduction of the “proportion” parameter. This handy addition is especially beneficial for larger designs. It helps maintain the overall slider proportion on expansive screens, preventing images from being cropped or squeezed within the show section.

Let’s not forget the newly added “border radius” parameter. This option lets you achieve distinctive design outcomes or seamlessly integrate with a full-screen design, overriding the global border radius settings from the customizer.

Event list widget: added new design features

The enhanced flexibility of the event list widget is truly remarkable. Now, you have the power to create entirely distinct types of event lists through adjustments in gradient, size, padding, and typography styles.

The updated events list widget can easily accommodate a broader range of design styles. This includes seamlessly fitting into narrower columns and completely transforming the visual look of your events.

Post list horizontal: added more customization features

Creating a personalized post list with Elementor has never been easier. You can now fine-tune the 10 new design choices available for this widget, making it incredibly valuable for crafting magazine and news pages. Whether you prefer a compact layout or an expansive one, you’re in control of font settings, paddings, column placement, or even full-screen presentation. The enhanced post list offers flexibility that rivals your yoga instructor’s teachings!

Customizer: added social icons to main menu bar

Due to numerous requests from our users, we’ve taken the step of introducing a feature that allows you to showcase social icons right in the main menu bar. You can access this option by navigating to Appearance > Customize > Logo and Menu Bars > Menu Buttons.

Pro Radio theme code: improved accessibility

Thanks to the insightful input from one of our wise customers, Pro Radio has made significant strides in enhancing accessibility, and we’re committed to making further improvements in the future.

Here’s what we’ve done:
– Menu icons now come with clear aria labels for improved understanding.
– We’ve ensured that social icons are appropriately labeled, aiding users relying on screen readers.
– The arrangement of player buttons has been optimized and labeled to simplify navigation.

Our aim is that these enhancements will be a valuable asset for anyone using a screen reader. By making radio stations more accessible, we aspire to foster a stronger sense of community within the radio station space.

Twitter X icon update

Whether it appeals to your taste or not, the fresh Twitter “X” logo has arrived. The rebranding has been implemented, and once you update the theme, the previous bird icon will be replaced by the new “X” icon.

From where we stand, the new logo poses a couple of challenges. It’s not only difficult to discern and quite slender when compared to other social media icons, but it also carries an element of confusion. With its resemblance to a window-closing icon, it’s possible that accidental clicks could occur. We’re uncertain about the intentions behind this design choice, but regardless, the new icon is now part of the updated theme.

Pro Radio Music Player for WordPress version 6.2.0

This update is a significant one, and it’s crucial to update this plugin along with the other plugins through the Pro Radio “admin” screen. If you don’t immediately see the updates, remember to click the Refresh button in the Pro Radio admin screen. This action will refresh your database cache and fetch the plugin updates for you.

In the latest player versions, there are numerous improvements, encompassing both functionality and design:

  1. SEO Enhancements to Prevent Song Title Indexing: After receiving valid complaints about Google indexing song titles, we’ve enhanced the player script for mobile devices. This improvement ensures that crawlers are excluded when pushing the song title to the page’s HTML. This maintains features like the lock screen title display and Bluetooth title push while preventing Google and Bing from indexing a song title in place of the correct website SEO title. If you’ve faced this issue previously, simply request a reindexing from Google after the update. It should rectify within 24 hours.
  2. Enhanced Icons Rendering in Popup Player and Mobile: We’ve reconstructed and reloaded the icon set for a better visual appearance of the line icons.
  3. Introduction of New Icons: A fresh radio icon, complete with a link to the channel, has been added. The alignment and style of these icons have been improved, particularly if you’re using the new linear icons.
  4. Centered Time Cue for Radio Channels: When a radio channel is loaded, the time counter is now centered for better design symmetry.
  5. Accessibility Improvements: All buttons have been labeled using aria tags, ensuring accessibility through screen readers.
  6. Popup Player Color Update: The popup player now correctly adopts the colors defined in the customizer, rather than using default colors.

This update is comprehensive, aiming to enhance both the player’s performance and its visual appeal. Don’t forget to keep your plugins and themes up to date for the best user experience.

Mega Headers

And finally, the most exciting part arrives – the pièce de résistance!

Congratulations for reaching the conclusion of this post. Your patience is about to pay off with a delightful surprise – a long-anticipated feature that many of our customers have been eagerly awaiting.

As you may be aware, the clash between Ajax page load (which keeps the music playing) and the Elementor Theme Builder (which replaces Pro Radio with a different theme) made it impossible, until now, to design your own theme header using Elementor.

While this capability was already accessible for the footer, it remained unavailable for the header.

However, after a considerable amount of effort and determination to align everything seamlessly, we are thrilled to introduce the new Mega Header option!

This means you can choose to hide the default menu bar and replace it with a personalized header crafted using Elementor – or you can even retain both if you prefer.

Moreover, this functionality comes with complete responsiveness. You can opt to hide the main menu and create a custom menu bar tailored specifically for distinct screen sizes – be it desktop, tablet, or mobile. For instance, you can design an elaborate custom header for desktop while maintaining a clean and minimalistic design for mobile devices.

To begin using this new feature, ensure you update both the theme and plugins. You’ll notice an updated version of the MegaFooter plugin, which has now evolved into Mega Footer and Header.

With the latest plugin versions, you can employ Elementor to construct new sections that can be seamlessly added to the header through the customizer.

Once your mega header is designed and ready, navigate to Appearance > Customize and integrate the header into your website. You also have the option to fix the header’s position from the customizer, making it stick to the page as users scroll.

In case the header seems to overlap too much of the page content, remember to fine-tune the Page Offset within the design settings.

To hide the default main menu bar from the original design, you’ll find switches within the “Logo and Menu Bars” section of the customizer.

This exciting addition empowers you to create captivating headers that align perfectly with your vision. We encourage you to explore this new feature and take your website customization to the next level.

Creating your new Mega Header

If you’re looking for a comprehensive tutorial, you’ll find all the details in the documentation accessible through this link. However, here are some swift pointers to help you get started.

To incorporate a menu bar in Elementor, the Horizontal Menu widget is at your service. It’s now a part of the latest Pro Radio Elementor widgets version.

The horizontal menu that you integrate via Elementor can be tailored using the exact styling choices available in the customizer. This way, you can maintain a consistent and cohesive website appearance.

For activating the sidebar opening function, you can take advantage of the newly introduced feature within the button widget. This updated widget not only provides fresh styling options but also brings additional features to the table.
