Pro Radio 8.5 is a massive update developed over more than a month of focused work. This release is centered on one clear objective: dramatically improving user experience and page performance without compromising content integrity, especially during Ajax page transitions.
This version required deep and extensive code refactoring to reach the performance level we wanted to deliver, while maintaining full compatibility with complex layouts and dynamic elements.
In short:
Performance is not optional for radio websites. Listeners must be able to continue listening while navigating between pages. If navigation feels slow or unstable, users leave silently. But non-stop music navigation comes at a cost: preserving the full Elementor page complexity — carousels, effects, and interactive elements — during page transitions adds significant overhead for the browser, and that workload increases with every new feature or Elementor update.
On mobile devices, speed becomes even more critical. Limited bandwidth and higher latency mean every optimization directly affects listener retention. Pro Radio 8.5 introduces a substantial performance upgrade designed to guarantee a seamless listening experience across all devices.
Over years of development and continuous feature expansion, original performance can gradually degrade. That’s why we dedicated an entire development cycle exclusively to optimization — delivering the performance boost your listeners deserve and achieving a remarkable improvement that will have a tangible impact on the success of your radio station website.
The most significant improvement in this release focuses on the Ajax page load engine. Ajax is the system that keeps the music playing while users navigate your website. It reloads only specific parts of the page while keeping the player, menu, and core elements persistent.
This functionality is a defining feature of Pro Radio and remains extremely rare among radio-focused WordPress themes.
To optimize this system, we introduced a new benchmarking tool available in the Ajax options panel. This allowed us to identify every bottleneck affecting page transitions, including carousels, images, background effects, and script execution.
The result:
Internal testing shows that the same demo installation now changes pages in nearly half the time compared to previous versions.
Additionally, Elementor integration is now significantly more stable. Images, styles, and visual effects load correctly without glitches or missing assets. The new Ajax Elementor Preprocessor allows prerendering of styles with a single click, ensuring consistent rendering across transitions.
Old Pro Radio 8.4 — Largest Contentful Paint: 1.77 seconds
New Pro Radio 8.5 — Largest Contentful Paint: 0.98 seconds
That’s nearly a 2× improvement in first render time on initial page load.
The test was performed on two identical local installations of the same demo page, with no caching enabled.

Pro Radio 8.5 introduces complete player synchronization across the entire website.
When you press play on any custom player or button, every other player linked to the same radio stream or MP3 file updates instantly. The playback state remains persistent during navigation, and all play buttons reflect the correct status across pages.
This eliminates inconsistencies and guarantees a professional, stable listening experience.
In short, imagine you have multiple play buttons linked to the same radio channel.
Up to version 8.4, starting playback would only update the state of the specific button that was clicked.
Starting from version 8.5, when a radio channel is played, all play buttons associated with that channel instantly reflect the actual player status.
This synchronization applies to Elementor custom players, header play buttons, and the main player bar — ensuring a consistent and accurate playback state across the entire interface.
The “Current Show” detection feature in the radio channel settings has been significantly optimized.
By implementing a transient caching system, server CPU usage for this function has been reduced by up to 90%.
This improvement ensures reliable performance even on smaller hosting plans and keeps your website fast and responsive under load.
Pro Radio includes multiple custom Elementor widgets, including carousels and sliders. Some of these components as carousels or effects were identified as performance bottlenecks during rendering.
We refactored those components to deliver:
The entire server-side Elementor widget integration has been updated to work seamlessly with the latest Elementor version, eliminating PHP errors, reducing slowdowns, and ensuring long-term stability.
The music player JavaScript and the Elementor player handling have been fully refactored to reduce server load, accelerate browser rendering, and minimize bandwidth usage — resulting in a lighter, faster player experience for your listeners.
Many customers asked a very practical question:
If a listener switches to a podcast or plays an MP3, how can they quickly return to the live radio stream?
Until version 8.4, the header Play button simply controlled whatever was currently loaded in the player. If a podcast was playing, the button would pause or resume that podcast — not necessarily bring the user back to the live broadcast.
Starting from version 8.5, you can change this behavior directly from the Customizer (in the player buttons options). The header Play button can now be permanently linked to your primary radio channel.
This means that even if a listener was browsing podcasts or listening to an on-demand track, a single click will immediately bring them back to the live stream. It removes ambiguity, simplifies navigation, and makes it much easier for users to reconnect with your broadcast whenever they want.
When your player loads instantly, when navigation feels fluid, and when everything works perfectly on mobile, listeners stay longer and return more often. That consistency builds trust, and trust builds loyalty.
Small delays and unstable transitions rarely generate complaints. They generate exits. Those exits reduce engagement and gradually weaken your position with sponsors.
Pro Radio 8.5 delivers a substantial performance upgrade that strengthens your foundation. It improves speed, stability, and playback persistence in a measurable way.
This version is not about adding features. It is about protecting your listeners, your credibility, and your growth.
Because in radio, you rarely lose listeners loudly.
You lose them quietly.
And performance is what keeps them.
