That’s exactly what we’ve been improving with Pro Radio 9.6, our latest update for the Pro Radio WordPress theme and plugins.

This release brings faster page navigation, predictive preloading, improved compatibility and several useful fixes. And there’s more: we’ve also introduced three new Pro Radio Plus website designs!

Faster AJAX Page Loading: See the Difference

One of Pro Radio’s most important features is AJAX Page Load. It allows visitors to navigate between pages without reloading the entire website, so your radio stream keeps playing while listeners explore your content.

With version 9.6, we’ve improved the page transitions and introduced predictive prefetching, which prepares pages before visitors actually open them, reducing the time spent waiting for content.

In the video above, we compare two installations side by side, navigating through the same pages to demonstrate the improvements.

New AJAX Page Load Options

We’ve also added more control over the navigation experience:

• Predictive Prefetch: Prepares upcoming pages to make navigation faster.
• Smooth Transition: Optionally applies a minimum 500ms transition for a softer visual effect.
• Loading Spinner: Display a customizable loading animation while pages are changing.
• Console Debugging: Additional information to help diagnose navigation problems.

Whether you prefer maximum speed or a smoother visual transition, you can choose what works best for your station.

More Improvements Across Pro Radio

Beyond page loading, this update includes several improvements to make everyday website management easier.

• Faster WordPress Admin: Optimized content selection fields, especially useful for websites with large amounts of content.
• Podcast Importer: Fixed duplicate episode imports when podcast feeds contain missing GUIDs.
• Elementor & Swipebox: Improved image lightbox compatibility, including dynamically loaded content.
• Additional fixes: Improved popup behavior, Elementor scrollbars and sidebar styling.

Keep Your Radio Website Updated

One last thing worth remembering: keeping your website updated is essential, not only to enjoy new features but also to maintain compatibility, improve reliability and reduce exposure to modern security threats.

We regularly introduce new improvements to Pro Radio, and keeping your Updates & Support service active ensures you can access them.

How to update

Updating Pro Radio WP is super simple:

1. Open your WordPress admin, and click ProRadio Admin on the left, or the big yellow banner about the update.
2. Click Update
3. Then also update the plugins.

It goes without saying that you should back up your site first.

Why? Is the update dangerous? No, of course not: it’s super well tested. But on cheaper servers, WordPress may run out of time when unzipping a plugin.

What does it mean? That, for instance, big plugins like Elementor will be missing files. That results in a crash, and you can’t even open the admin. So we recommend to make a quick. update with Softaculous, Wp Toolkit or similar, and have a restore point in case anything breaks.

Updates access suspended? No worries! No need to purchase a new license.
